Background :
T-cell surface glycoprotein CD8 alpha chain (CD8 alpha) is an integral membrane glycoprotein that plays an essential role in the immune response and serves multiple functions in responses against both external and internal offenses. In T-cells, CD8 alpha functions primarily as a coreceptor for MHC class I molecule:peptide complex. In NK-cells, the presence of CD8 alpha homodimers at the cell surface provides a survival mechanism allowing conjugation and lysis of multiple target cells. CD8 alpha homodimer molecules also promote the survival and differentiation of activated lymphocytes into memory CD8 T-cells. Cellular location Membrane and secreted

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
