Background :
S100B weakly binds calcium but binds zinc very tightly-distinct binding sites with different affinities exist for both ions on each monomer. S100B binds to and initiates the activation of STK38 by releasing autoinhibitory intramolecular interactions within the kinase. The interaction between S100B and AGER after MI may play a role in apoptosis by activating ERK1/2 and p53 / TP53 signaling. S100B could assist ATAD3A cytoplasmic processing, preventing aggregation and favoring mitochondrial localization. S100B may mediate calcium-dependent regulation on many physiological processes by interacting with other proteins, such as TPR-containing proteins, and modulating their activity. Cellular location Nucleus, Cytoplasm

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
