Background :
Periostin (POSTN, PN), originally named as osteoblast-specific factor 2 (OSF-2), is a secreted protein which is now classified as a matricellular protein. It is present in a wide variety of normal adult tissues and fetal tissues, and has a role in bone, tooth and heart development and function. Periostin is overexpressed in a broad range of human cancer types, including lung, ovary, breast and colon cancers. Periostin is also expressed by fibroblasts in the normal tissue and in the stroma of the primary tumour, and it is required to allow cancer stem cell maintenance. Cellular location Secreted, Golgi apparatus

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
