Background :
IGF2BP3 is an insulin-like growth factor-II mRNA-binding proteins (IMPs), which belong to a family of zipcode-binding proteins. IGF2BP3 contains two RNA recognition motifs, four K homology domains, and were found to function in mRNA localization, turnover, and translation control. IGF2BP3 plays a role in a variety of physiological and pathological processes, such as growth and development, testicular neoplasia, and melanocytic neoplasia. IGF2BP3 is an oncofetal protein expressed in developing tissues as well as in many tumor types. Expression of IGF2BP3 is a marker for poor prognosis and metastasis in a variety of cancers. Cellular location Cytoplasm, Nucleus
