Background :
Nucleophosmin (NPM1) is a putative ribosome assembly factor with a high affinity for peptides containing nuclear localization signals (NLSs). The transport of proteins across the nuclear envelope is a selective, multistep process involving several cytoplasmic factors. Proteins must be recognized as import substrates, dock at the nuclear pore complex and translocate across the nuclear envelope in an ATP-dependent fashion. Several cytosolic and nuclear proteins that are central to this process have been identified. NPM1 is involved in ribosomal assembly and rRNA transport. It is highly phosphorylated by Cdc2 kinase during mitosis. Cellular location Nucleus, nucleoplasm

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
