Background :
β-Amyloid (Aβ) precursor protein (APP) is a 100-140 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein that exists as several isoforms The amino acid sequence of APP contains the amyloid domain, which can be released by a two-step proteolytic cleavage. The extracellular deposition and accumulation of the released Aβ fragments form the main components of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s disease. APP can be phosphorylated at several sites, which may affect the proteolytic processing and secretion of this protein. Phosphorylation at Thr668 (a position corresponding to the APP695 isoform) by cyclin-dependent kinase is cell-cycle dependent and peaks during G2/M phase. APP phosphorylated at Thr668 exists in adult rat brain and correlates with cultured neuronal differentiation. β -amyloid (1-40) Rabbit pAb recognizes endogenous levels of Aβ-40 peptide. Cellular location Membrane

Antibodies are immunoglobulins secreted by effector lymphoid B cells into the bloodstream. Antibodies consist of two light peptide chains and two heavy peptide chains that are linked to each other by disulfide bonds to form a “Y” shaped structure. Both tips of the “Y” structure contain binding sites for a specific antigen. Antibodies are commonly used in medical research, pharmacological research, laboratory research, and health and epidemiological research. They play an important role in hot research areas such as targeted drug development, in vitro diagnostic assays, characterization of signaling pathways, detection of protein expression levels, and identification of candidate biomarkers.
