Product Name: IL-21 Antibody (biotin)
Species Reactivity: Human
Tested Applications: ELISA, WB
Applications: ELISA:Direct:To detect hIL-21 by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-21.SandwichTo detect hIL-21 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 – 1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with our polyclonal Anti-Human IL-21 as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 – 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-21. Western Blot:To detect hIL-21 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 – 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hIL-21 is 1.5 – 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
User Note: Centrifuge vial prior to opening.

Background: A novel cytokine related to IL2 and IL15 was recently identified and designated IL21. IL21 has been found to be a powerful growth factor for naive B cells. The receptor for IL21 (IL21R, also termed NILR for novel Interleukin receptor) is a new member of the class I cytokine receptor family. IL21R forms a complex with the common cytokine receptor g chain, gc, and mediates IL21 signaling. Both IL21R and the gc are necessary for the IL21 function. IL21 and its receptor activate JAKSTAT signaling pathway. IL21R is expressed in spleen, thymus, natural killer (NK), T and B cell lines. IL21 plays a role in the proliferation and maturation of NK, B and T cell populations.
